The Girl Scout Leadership Experience changes the arc of girls’ lives, providing leadership opportunities in communities & around the world.

Join us in making a promise to girls, so every girl in this generation – wherever she lives and whatever challenges face her – will reach her fullest potential.

For 100 years, Girl Scouting has been building girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place.

Girl Scouts of Minnesota and Wisconsin Lakes and Pines is chartered by Girl Scouts of the USA to deliver the Girl Scout program to 39 counties throughout northern Minnesota and northwestern Wisconsin. There are more than 11,000 registered members in Lakes and Pines!

Girl Scout programs are based on the themes of leadership development, life skills and community service. They are girl-led, cooperative, and interactive, and each falls under one of five areas:

Arts & Culture Girl Scouting opens up the world to girls and helps them develop their creativity, follow their instincts, and hone their skills. From theater and dance, to learning about traditions and customs from other hemispheres, these programs help to expand girls’ exposure to, awareness of, and appreciation for a wide variety of artistic expressions and diverse cultural experiences.

Financial Literacy Girl-led programs such as the Girl Scout Cookie Program, help girls build confidence while learning business and marketing skills, goal-setting, and public speaking. These financial education initiatives inspire a courageous entrepreneurial spirit and help increase a girl’s chances for success.

Environment & Outdoor Adventure Girls are not only engaged in activity and exploration, but are also developing an appreciation for the great outdoors and its preservation. Lakes and Pines camp adventures vary:

  • Camp Shingobee Timbers, near Walker, MN ... resident and troop camping
  • Camp Roundelay, near Minong, WI ... resident and troop camping
  • Northern Lakes Canoe Base, near Ely, MN … wilderness tripping into the BWCA
  • Janette Pollay Program Center, Duluth, MN ... troop camping
  • Camp Sanderson, near Spicer, MN ... resident and troop camping

Science, Technology, Engineering & Math (STEM) Girl Scouts has a strong history of developing pioneers in the fields of math, science, and technology. Lakes and Pines encourages girls to explore and experience science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) in an all-girl, supportive, and fun environment.

Wellness & Healthy Living Childhood obesity, self-esteem, and body image are growing societal concerns and knowing that girls sometimes struggle with fitness and poor body image, we offer innovative programs in sports, nutrition, and health to instill positive health choices and encourage strength – physically and emotionally. Our programs encourage fitness, a healthy self image, healthy relationships, and an overall healthy lifestyle.

Girl Scouts of Minnesota and Wisconsin Lakes and Pines is the premiere leadership experience for girls and young women in northern Minnesota and northwestern Wisconsin.

An investment in Girl Scouts is a commitment to developing young leaders who have the passion and the know-how to change the world.
