As a youth development nonprofit, we empower kids to be successful on and off the courts through life skills, tennis and education.

Fred Wells Tennis and Education Center is one of the most exciting youth development nonprofits in the Twin Cities, a place where kids from all socio economic and cultural backgrounds can flourish in their out-of-school time.

Tennis and Education staff and volunteers mentor, coach, and ensure that each day at FWTEC is a fresh new start for at-risk kids, where they can have a voice and can define a healthy future for themselves. For student athletes and fitness-minded students alike, the Multicultural Junior Tennis Programs are based on the assumption that everyone has room to grow and can strive for excellence.

All youth programs emphasize a culture of responsibility, honesty, self-esteem, goal-setting, sportsmanship, and lifelong fitness and learning.

$ 25 pays for one hour of instruction on the court or in the classroom for Citizens of the Court (C²)
$ 75 provides a Girls Squad scholarship for 8 weeks for a girl whose family cannot pay the minimum fee.
$ 100 fills up the tank of the Big Blue Bus for one week of transporting about 85 C² kids from 3 schools to the Center and back again. The ride includes a healthy snack and a cheerful bus driver.
$ 150 funds a simple luncheon to thank our 14 fabulous C² and Girls Squad volunteers who give more than 1,200 hours of volunteer service each year!
$ 300 pays for 7 hours of weekly on-court and off-court Tennis2College coaching for a budding student athlete for 5 weeks.
$ 750 supports a 13 year old boy to be in Boys Leadership Team for a year.
$ 1,750 gives an at-risk 3rd, 4th, 5th or 6th grader a full year of life skills and tennis instruction with our mentor-coaches.
