------------------------------------
Rather than offering temporary aid or relief programs, endPoverty.org accomplishes our mission by:
1. Providing small loans to poor entrepreneurs with severely limited access to capital to help them start their own small businesses.
2. Offering specialized business and vocational training to these individuals and their families.
3. Building long-term mentoring relationships and community support networks for our borrowers to help ensure their business success and personal and spiritual growth.
Since our inception in 1985, endPoverty has directly helped more than 200,000 poor entrepreneurs start their own businesses and provide for their families with dignity. We work through and are closely partnered with a network of locally-led microfinance and development institutions in twelve countries all over the world.
Najima Bibi, a current loan client (pictured above), is a testament to the real opportunity and hope we offer poor families throughout the developing world. When Najima and her husband first approached endPoverty, they were literally on the brink of starvation. Their tree children were subsisting on drinking water alone for periods as long as a week at a time. Najima constantly worried if her young daughter would survive. Using an initial loan of 1,000 rupees or $22, they launched a small business making concrete rings for wells and septic tanks. The entire family worked tirelessly. Today the business is thriving, employing many others in their community. Najima's daughter married this year, much to her mother's joy and delight.
Every year, endPoverty.org empowers literally thousands of families like Najima's all over the world. Will you consider supporting us and becoming a Poverty Ender?
