COMMUNITY NEIGHBORHOOD HOUSING SERVICES

Community Neighborhood Housing Services (CNHS) has provided 30 years of vital homeownership services and programs to the residents of St. Paul and the surrounding local suburbs to improve and stabilize our local neighborhoods. CNHS was originally incorporated as a small 501(c)3 in 1981 and has since expanded into a diverse organization that provides comprehensive homeownership services. In the past 5 years alone, CNHS has leveraged funds to allow for $141,086,523 of direct investments into the local community.

Several factors differentiate CNHS from other Twin Cities Metro Area organizations that focus on affordable housing. First and foremost, CNHS offers a comprehensive combination of full-cycle lending services. CNHS helps prepare potential homebuyers through financial literacy, mortgage counseling, and one-on-one and group homebuyer education. CNHS also offers down payment assistance to assist low income households in purchasing their first home. After the purchase, CNHS offers home improvement loans with flexible terms and lower interest rates to households that wouldn’t generally qualify for a loan from traditional lending institutions. An experienced Construction Specialist helps clients prioritize and coordinate their home improvement projects and obtain and evaluate contractor bids. Foreclosure prevention and mitigation and loan modification assistance is also available for homeowners facing the prospect of foreclosure. CNHS offers all of our services in English and in Hmong.
