"POWERFUL WOMEN ARE GIRLS WHO WERE ENCOURAGED TO DREAM"

DARE TO DREAM and LET ME PLAY GRANT PROGAMS GIVE GIRLS OPPORTUNITES TO EXPLORE THEIR DREAMS

Some quotes from girls, mentors, and parents:

“When you get the opportunity to do something you really want to do, make the most of it. Camp taught me to take my skating to the next level and give 100%. It was good to be pushed to my full potential.” Mae

"This experience dog-sledding has made me think about goals in life and what’s important to me. I think about how and if I could, in the future start a business where kids could come and learn about dog-sledding from me." Sarah

“There are not many opportunities available to Sarah in this small town. She and her family work hard on the farm, and there is no time or money for Sarah to do what she loves, or expand her horizons. The grant gave her the “brass ring” to actually step out of her role, to try a new experience, and have a chance to shine. This experience gave her the chance to prove her own strength, confidence, and self-pride." Sarah's mentor, Helen

“I learned a lot of new volleyball skills and ways to improve my skills. Camp gave me the tools to push myself and work hard for my team. I am a better player now, and I have earned a starting position on my team. I would not have been able to go to camp without the financial support of the grant. I am very thankful for the opportunity.” Richell

“When I spoke to Angela after camp, she was so excited. She lit up talking about Marty, her horse, and her new friends. This camp gave Angela an experience that was all her own. She did not realize that going to camp was even a possibility before she heard about the grant. With my help, she filled out the app0lications. With the help of her family, she got herself packed and to and from the bus to camp. There was a lot involved in each of these steps. Angie can be proud of all that she did to make this dream come true. The seed has been planted for her to see what is possible. With this accomplishment, she can “dare to dream” her next dream!” Theresa, Angela’s mentor

“Thank you so much for awarding me a grant to play the violin. This experience has really made an impact on me. I am grateful to ABF for providing me this option to realize my dream.” May

“The girls my wife and I sponsor really do have dreams and also their families have financial needs. This program has allowed several girls from our little town to follow dreams they never would have considered without the grants. In every instance, the activity experienced by the girls because of the grant has been outstanding and a true gift—none of the girls would have been able to participate in the activity without the foundation. The girls we recommend are not the girls with the great social skills and supportive homes but the ones that don’t receive all of the accolades.” John, a mentor

“This grant allowed me to go to my first wheelchair basketball camp. It was my first time away from home. I found out that I can survive without my mom’s help each day. I met a lot of new friends. We played and learned basketball the entire time! By going to this camp I will have a better chance of playing at the college level, and hopefully make the varsity team at Courage Center. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to attend this camp—I have life long memories.” Marissa

“I want to let you know how much we appreciate your assistance. This grant is a significant step in providing Adele the assistance she needs to attend debate camp. Ann Bancroft is an amazing trailblazer. We want our daughter to be a trailblazer in her own right. This grant will allow our daughter to pursue one of her true passions: debate.” Adele’s mom, Antoinette

ABF Foundation is dedicated to offering hope and a positive connection to girls at a critical time in their development, it is the only organization I am aware of that has identified this age as a time where impactful guidance can foster good decisions at this tipping point.
