Our Story is Born Out of Tremendous Love and Great Loss

Our Mission Statement:

The Szott Foundation provides the Gift of Time that allows a parent to stay home from work full-time to meet the emotional, physical, and medical needs of a child with life-threatening cancer.

The Andrew and Abby Szott Foundation is a United States nonprofit organization that provides financial and moral support to families with a child with life-threatening cancer. Founded by David and Kathryn Szott, the Foundation has grown to provide support to several families in the Midwestern United States. This is our story:

Our story is one of tremendous love and great loss. Our family knows the pain of losing not just one but two children to cancer. After the loss of our second child in March 2006, my husband, David, and I began feeling a pressing need to do something to honor the lives of our children while helping other families who face the same heartaches.

Our desire is to give the Gift of Time to help families with children suffering from life-threatening cancer. The Andrew and Abby Szott Foundation became a 501(c)(3) organization in January 2007. Due to the generosity of many, we are able to serve families in this capacity.
