4Girls GLocal Leadership
A US registered nonprofit
We started 4GGL to ignite girls’ leadership, worldwide. We target impoverished communities where it is needed the most. This is because we have seen the faces of human suffering - the majority are women and girls. Our innovative approach is a multigenerational women’s leadership model to develop local community networks for girls’ leadership.
Develop Local Communities for Girls’ Leadership (4GGL Networks):
Developing leadership skills and building leadership capacity are essential and fundamental to developing self-sufficient change agents. This is critical particularly for impoverished, vulnerable girls, as they may be systemically and systematically discriminated throughout their lives.
Therefore, 4GGL partners with existing local organizations to develop girls’ leadership programs in disadvantaged communities. We build organizational capacity by training-the-trainers and providing technical assistance to help them develop programs with community partnerships.
Cultivate The Leadership of Young Women:
4GGL cultivates the next generation of women leaders by offering unique leadership training opportunities to college women. Our goals for this program are:
•To increase awareness of gender issues and their global-local interconnection.
•To develop young women’s leadership skills.
•To prepare them to work with local organizations to develop girls’ leadership in impoverished communities around the world.
Multigenerational Women’s Leadership Model :
Wise women are the heart of 4GGL. Our Sofias are women with experience and wisdom to mentor and provide guidance to young women, our partner organizations and 4GGL. Their commitment and leadership towards gender equality and the empowerment of girls, form the foundation of our multigenerational women’s leadership model.
